This blog isn't usually about anything other than my crafting life, but I do have to share a collage of photos from an amazing week we just spent in Vancouver.
The fall colors were incredible. We did many wonderful things, a few highlights being : cycling the trails of Stanley Park with the kids, kicking leaves, collecting conkers, beer tasting with the husband, the blended mojito at Earls, and eating in French cafes.
Have YOU been to Vancouver? What are your favorite things to do there? What did I miss? I need to make a list for a return journey...
We live on Vancouver Island, about 1.5hr ferry ride to Vancouver. I have to say that while we're close, we haven't spent a whole ton of time in the city so I don't know the best things to suggest, but I see you were drinking Granville Island beer....did you actually go to Granville Island? It's a really neat area with shops, a HUGE market with tons of vendors of food and other things, even a kids market which is lots of fun. Also for kids, Science World is a lot of fun. You may have seen it from the downtown area. Other than that I don't know what to suggest but I'm glad that you enjoyed your time in Vancouver!!
ReplyDeleteWhat cool photos :)
ReplyDeleteI lived in Vancouver a LONG time ago but one of my fav. things to do was go to Bloedel Conservatory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloedel_Floral_Conservatory
I seem to remember there was a sloth lying on a tree branch and you could walk right under him/her :)
After I moved to the U.S. (from England) I took my then one year old back there and took photos of her sitting by the flowers it is my fav. photo of her as a little one. :)
Gastown is fun, I LOVE eating in Chinatown of course, but English bay watching the huge container ships anchored out there with the sun going down, was stunningly beautiful to me.
So, glad you had fun, T. :)
I've never been but it sounds heavenly- i'm loving the fall colors in your pics!

Heather, I'm so jealous! You live in a beautiful part of the world!! We actually spent a whole day on Granville Island. The day before Halloween there was trick or treating in all the stores in the kids' market and I managed to sneak off for a quick 1/2 hr for some grown up shopping and bought some fabric in Maiwa. Great place! Also, we did go to Science World too. This was great for my kids (aged 5 and 7), not too big, loads to do and the little shows were fab!!
ReplyDeleteT, thanks so much for the recommendations. We didn't get to the conservatory, but sounds like that needs to go on my list. Would love to see the sloth (I'm sure it's STILL just hanging out there!!)
Anyway, thanks for sharing ladies. I really enjoyed the city so much and have to say, it's probably one of my all-time favorites. PLUS I could even buy real English Cadbury's and tea bags. AND there was a tea pot in our hotel room. Happy, happy :O)
